Our Services

As physical therapists, we don’t just work to resolve the pain or discomfort you feel, we work to address the underlying cause, which may come from another issue such as compensation for weakness or injury in another area.

As experts in orthopedic manual therapy, we will evaluate your unique situation and develop a plan using a variety of techniques to address your issue and strengthen any underlying weakness, resulting in long-term healing and increased function.

Joint Mobilization

Mobilization improves motion, reduces pain, and normalizes joint function with hands-on manual therapy. The physical therapist first identifies and localizes the joint in need of mobilization, and then places the patient in a comfortable position and carefully applies needed force in the appropriate direction to address the issue. This technique can be used on the neck, upper, middle and lower back, as well as to shoulders, wrists, hands, hips, knees, feet and ankles.

Functional Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment that involves inserting a fine microfilament needle into targeted muscles and soft tissue. It is often used as a part of a broad treatment plan, and is performed by a fully trained and certified physical therapist. This treatment can be used to address a variety of ailments, including acute and chronic pain, low back pain, tendinitis, soft tissue disfunction, and more.

HVLA (High Velocity Low Amplitude)

HVLA is a common spinal manipulation technique that has been known to help alleviate problems such as lower back pain, neck pain, migraines, and headaches.

Golf Performance

Our Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified Physical Therapist will offer guidance into how physical limitations could be negatively affecting your golf swing. With a golf-specific examination, the physical therapist will be able to offer a customized strength and flexibility program to keep you playing longer and help you lower your risk of injury—and your scores.

Orthopedic & Sports Medicine

With any athletic sport comes strains, sprains, tears and injuries. We specialize in orthopedic and sports medicine to help you perform at your best, no matter your or sport or level competition. Whether it is preventative “pre-habbing” to reduce risk of injury, or rehabbing from a previous injury, we’ll provide the expertise, guidance and program to help you get back on the field, court, or course.

Post Surgical Rehabilitation

Once your surgery has been successfully completed, one of the most important aspects of recovery is commitment to sticking to a post-surgery rehabilitation plan. At Ascend, we will create a personalized rehabilitation plan in coordination and communication with your surgeon, and be with you during every step of your recovery, helping you identify restrictions and rehab techniques, so you can carefully maintain and regain strength while supporting your body’s natural healing process.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

This is the process of using a tool to manipulate or apply pressure to a soft tissue in order to facilitate and accelerate healing, improve mobility, and reduce pain.

Balance Training

Balance training is an integral part of healthy aging, as it can prevent injuries commonly caused by falling. However, balance training can also be vital in the recovery from core or lower extremity injury. Our balance training involves targeted strengthening exercises and coordination training, to help prevent falls or accelerate return athletic competition.

Taping

Kinesiology taping involves placing strips of special tape on your body in specific directions to help improve your mobility and support your joints, muscles, and tendons. Your physical therapist will determine if kinesiology tape could help you as a part of your recovery program.

Wellness Performance Screening

Learn how you are doing with your mobility and what the source of any pain or discomfort may be. This 30min-1hr screening session focuses on a performance mobility checkup so our team can provide the best treatment recommendations.

Therapeutic Exercise Prescription & Instruction

Exercise and active movement is a critical component of physical therapy treatment that helps target muscle groups that will facilitate the healing process. Your physical therapist will provide guided instructions on how to complete each exercise to ensure proper technique. You will then be assigned a regimen that you can complete at home as well as in the office, so your healing process continues even after you leave our doors!
